Shedding the Skin
The essence of my PGDP journey has been defined by letting go and adaptability. Stepping into an unfamiliar territory, I was confronted with uncharted areas I had never explored, largely because I had remained within the safety of my comfort zone. However, this experience challenged me to push beyond my boundaries, encouraging me to engage with disciplines and practices I wouldn’t have typically chosen. In many ways, it felt like shedding old skin and emerging anew, equipped with fresh skills, perspectives, and a redefined way of thinking.
While working on the three pieces of work, I resonated most with the metaphor “Shedding the Skin.” To me, “shedding the skin” signifies orienting and adapting to an unfamiliar area, learning a new skill, enduring the grind of failure, and refining my abilities through the process. This aligns with the act of “shedding skin,” where I let go of inhibitions and embrace change, ultimately emerging renewed, with honed skills and deeper knowledge.
Just as the process of shedding the skin is iterative, this cycle continues as I apply my newly acquired expertise to the next seminar, once again experiencing the grind, adapting to change, and being reborn stronger and more resilient. With each transformation building upon the last, I find the process shaping me into a more refined and adaptable version of myself.
