Growing Roots

Similar to how a sapling sends its roots deep into the soil, I have been grounding myself in the fundamentals of design, theory and practice throughout this PGDP course. In the beginning, much like a young plant, I felt uncertain, adapting to a new environment and absorbing knowledge from different sources. Each project, critique and exploration nourished me, helping me develop a foundation.

Over time, my roots extended further, connecting with diverse ideas, methodologies and inspirations. My initial understanding of design was surface-level, but through hands-on learning, discussions and reflection, I started to see deeper connections between my background in environmental science and my growing passion for industrial design. Exploring diverse materials and nature-inspired designs has helped expand my root network, making my creative process more resilient and interconnected.

Now, with a better understanding, I feel confident in my approach, drawing strength from my experiences. Just as roots enable a tree to stand tall, my growing knowledge and skills are preparing me to branch out into new possibilities, shaping a design philosophy that is both personal and impactful.
