Swati Maskeri

The Positioning Practice seminar, guided by Swati Maskeri, opened my eyes to the intersection of design, sustainability and social impact. Films like The Golden Thread and The Story of Stuff introduced me to powerful concepts such as consumerism, obsolescence, eco-footprint and Cradle to Cradle (C2C). Discussions on Abundance in Frugality, led by faculty member Nandini, made me reflect on how frugality is part of my cultural roots. Hands-on experiences like looming with waste cloth reinforced the value of sustainable making. This seminar shaped my design thinking by grounding it in empathy, awareness and responsibility.
