This project challenges the notion of Jaipur as a ‘museumised city,’ using language as a lens to reveal its layered, evolving narratives. Unmusing, Deconstructed takes the form of a dynamic glossary—a set of visually engaging, interactive cards that reframe historical and cultural perceptions through metaphor, reinterpretation, and playful critique. The project began by navigating discomfort, confronting dominant narratives and exploring the city beyond its curated surface. Through iterative exploration, each card became a tool for questioning fixed meanings, blending typography, layout, and metaphor to create a multi-sensory learning experience. Rather than a static exhibit element, the glossary provokes active reflection—inviting users to engage with the city’s complexities, contestations, and everyday stories. Constant refinement of language, categories, and interaction ensured that the final outcome remained open-ended yet grounded. The result is a critical, interpretive guide that transforms passive viewing into thoughtful, personal engagement with Jaipur’s hidden histories.
