Circle of Living and Dying Well is a deeply personal acrylic painting that explores the entanglement of grief, bodily transformation, and ecological cycles. Rooted in the loss of a parent and witnessing a mother's post-surgical recovery, the piece merges human and more-than-human forms—fungi, veins, spectral bodies—to reflect interconnectedness in life and death. Drawing from feminist phenomenology and ecological philosophy, especially the works of Donna Haraway and Anne Carson, the artwork becomes a site of synthesis where decay, care, and collaboration coexist. It visualizes death not as an end but as a shared, ongoing rhythm across species and systems.
