My journey began with listening to the bulbul’s melodic three-note call and observing its playful movement near hibiscus flowers. Inspired by its rhythm and vibrant form, I mapped a symmetrical composition balancing the bird and blossoms, using layered screen printing with OHP sheets. Translating sound into visual form, I created lino prints representing the bird, sun, and its sound waves—patterns later explored with Shibori dyeing. Experimenting with natural dyes like Harda, Manjistha, and Arashi Shibori added textured depth, evoking early morning skies and the bird’s vibrant energy. Integrating eco-printing on repurposed fabric emphasized ecological connection and sustainability. Through iterative refinement—perfecting print registration and dye intensity—I crafted a sensory-rich textile narrative that weaves the bulbul’s melody, movement, and spirit into tangible form.
