This project explores the intersection of tradition and modernity through a handcrafted teak and acrylic lamp. Inspired by classical columns and minimalist design, the lamp was developed through hands-on experimentation—navigating the discomfort of unfamiliar tools and materials to discover new possibilities in craft. The contrast between warm wood and sleek acrylic posed physical and aesthetic challenges, requiring careful material negotiation to achieve balance. Through iterative sketching, CAD modeling, and prototyping, the lamp evolved as both a light source and a sculptural object. Precision in joinery and lighting integration refined the outcome, while tactile contrasts added depth and visual intrigue. Built with intent and care, the lamp moves beyond functionality, becoming a statement of form, light, and material harmony. It reflects not only a design process but a journey of discovery, where each refinement shaped a clearer, more meaningful object.
